What’s the right size DMA for you?
When dividing a water distribution network into District Metered Areas (DMAs) size matters!
But how can you work out what size DMAs will enable you to find leaks in the most cost-effective way? That can be a multi-million-dollar question. In DMAs that are too small, regular fluctuations in supply data will likely obscure many leaks; if DMAs are too big, you will miss small leaks that can lead to huge loss over time.
Read our new article Let’s Talk About DMA Size to learn how to calculate DMA sizes for the most effective and cost-efficient leak detection. In the article, we share the results of our analysis of data from more than 1000 DMAs at 15 utilities around the world and present a simple formula you can use to define the ideal DMA architecture for your network.
